Carrollton's scope includes introducing pre-kindergarten girls to discovering the world around them and leading twelfth grade young women to discover themselves. We who educate the students must be very sensitive to their unique developmental needs at each stage of their learning. It is for this reason that Carrollton, while maintaining a cohesive curriculum and united community, has been divided into five independent learning communities or schools: Montessori (ages 3-5); Primary (grades 1-3); Intermediate (grades 4-6); Junior High (grades 7-8); and High School (grades 9-12). Each of these schools has been created to be responsive to the particular needs of girls at the important and formative stages in their lives.

Each school has its own facilities and its own faculty which is specialized in meeting the needs of the students at that particular developmental stage. Each is guided by the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria, and each focuses on a special time in a girl's development. Our Montessori School, for example, lays the groundwork for a lifetime love of learning and independent thinking. Primary School students build the foundations of an excellent education while learning to be caring members of a community. The Intermediate School provides the structure for the application of skills in a highly interactive environment. Junior High girls receive the focused attention they require to assume individual responsibility as they enter the critical teenage years. Our High School students pursue a rigorous college preparatory curriculum within a carefully designed context to gain the academic and social skills they need for adulthood.

The five schools are situated on two campuses - Barat and Duchesne. Both campuses offer ideal settings to students and teachers for their mutual enterprise of wondering, seeing, analyzing, debating, thinking and re-thinking, praying, challenging and dreaming. Beginning on Duchesne in Montessori and Primary, students progress from one school to the next, moving to Barat for Intermediate, returning to Duchesne for Junior High and then completing their Carrollton education at Barat for High School. Moving back and forth as they mature allows the students to enjoy each school with a fresh perspective and contributes to Carrollton's vitality as a unified learning community

No one building block is more important than another. Each performs an important role in teaching girls to become responsible and caring individuals. Many of our students come to us from other schools at various points in their academic careers. These students discover that they will quickly absorb the benefits of a Carrollton education. We emphasize individual learning so that no student is ever left behind. This is true for all facets of a Carrollton education. It is never too late to reap the full rewards of being a Carrollton student.

Recognizing that our responsibility is to prepare students to live effectively in a technologically rich global community, Carrollton is firmly committed to integrating technology into the curriculum. Students enjoy technology and computer science classes across the schools. Curriculum participates in Anytime Anywhere Learning: a laptop program sponsored by Microsoft. Every student from fifth grade on works with her laptop. Seen as the students' learning tool box, the laptop provides students with an excellent support.
