Carrollton is committed to working in partnership with local community outreach organizations that serve the needs of the poor, and promote equity and justice for the marginalized. We strive to develop reciprocal relationships that both enrich our students’ lives while furthering our goal as a Sacred Heart institution to make known God’s love to the world. Breakthrough Miami

Breakthrough Miami uses a unique “students-teaching-students” model to create a rigorous, vibrant learning community, where highly motivated, traditionally underrepresented 5th-12th grade students are supported to achieve post-secondary success and emerging leaders are inspired to become the next generation of educators and advocates. Breakthrough Miami currently serves 1,300 middle and high school students at six community campus locations. The Carrollton site is the only all-girl site in the collaborative. Honey Shine, Inc.

Honey Shine, Inc. is an all-girls empowerment program for girls ages 5-25 from underprivileged communities. Honey Shine’s mission is to encourage the balance of mind, body, and soul in young women, providing an opportunity for nurturing experiences that enlighten their paths and empowers their future. Honey Shine girls Daisies (grades 1st-5th), Tulips (grades 6th-8th), and Roses (grades 9th-12) are exposed to life skills, educational and academic enrichment activities. Honey Shine is committed to bridging academic, social, and emotional gaps through interactive sessions in nontraditional settings. Little Bahamas of Coconut Grove Commitment

We are proud of having partnered with The Barnyard, Coconut Grove Cares and Thelma Gibson Health Initiative for over 20 years through volunteer and outreach initiatives that connect our students, families, and alumnae to our neighbors in the west grove.

The Barnyard
Coconut Grove Cares operates The Barnyard, a fun, supervised community center for children ages 5-12. Programs focus on education, arts and culture, science exploration, literacy, fitness, and parental engagement. www.coconutgrovecares.org

Thelma Gibson Health Initiative, Inc.
