Intermediate & Junior High (Grades 4-8) Admission Procedures

To sign up for a Showcase, a tour, register for an event and apply for admissions, please create a Carrollton Admission Portal account here. We look forward to getting to know you and helping you learn more about Carrollton! We ask that you file your application with consideration for the time required to test and interview your daughter, as well as to receive her records and recommendation forms. The Admission Committee strongly recommends that you apply early to ensure sufficient time to complete the student’s file.

The following items are required before the Admission Committee can consider an applicant’s file complete:

  • Application Form: Create a Carrollton Admissions Portal account to complete Steps 1-4 which includes an application fee of $125.
  • Academic Records including Standardized Test Scores and Teacher Recommendations: Carrollton requires two recommendations (Principal and Teacher recommendations) and records for the past 4 years your daughter has been in a school which must be submitted electronically by the student’s current school; however, the parents are responsible for requesting the recommendations through Carrollton’s Admissions Portal.  The recommendations must be requested online.  You will need the recommender's first and last name, as well as their email addresses for recommendation submission.
  • Grade 6, 7 and 8 Student Writing Sample: Available on our Carrollton Admissions Portal.

Entrance Examination

Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart requires the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT).   As articulated in our Goals and Criteria, Schools of the Sacred Heart commit themselves to educate to a deep respect for intellectual values.  Carrollton has always based admissions decisions on a comprehensive and holistic evaluation of each applicant, not only considering the entrance exam, but also evaluating all of our requirements for admissions such as the interview of the applicant and her parents, the student writing sample, school recommendations, and transcripts. You may take the exam at any of the locations that the exam is offered but strongly suggest those applying to Grades 4 & 5 to take it on campus.  Please note both exams are offering families a secure, online, remotely proctored option that enables students to take the exam at a time that is convenient for their schedules at home.

The Admission Committee will accept the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) for grades 4 and 5 or Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) for any applicant applying to Grades 6 and up.
