We ask that you file your application with consideration for the time required to test and interview your daughter, as well as to receive her records and recommendation forms. Barat Scholarship - Incoming 9th grade students only
The Barat Scholarship is awarded to an exceptional applicant in Grade 9 who demonstrates high academic achievement and active involvement in her community. A Barat Scholar seeks to be inspired intellectually and to share her gifts and talents with the Carrollton community. Named for our foundress, Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, this award honors students who, as Goal II states, demonstrate a deep respect for intellectual values. An Admissions Committee determines the scholarship recipients based on a holistic process that includes a review of grades and test scores (a combined average of 75th percentile or above on the ISEE or SSAT subtests), supplemental essay responses, and a student interview. The Barat Scholarship grants a student $7,000 for each of her 4 years in the Upper School at Carrollton for a total of $28,000. This scholarship is available ONLY to students applying to Grade 9. All applicants must take either the ISEE or the SSAT by the end of December.
*Please note that the Priority Deadline of December 31, 2022 is for the submission of your daughter’s Carrollton Admissions application and entrance exam scores in order to be eligible for the 9th Grade Barat Scholarship Competition.
Applications received after January 10, 2023 are considered late applications. Click here for late applicant procedures.
