Welcome and thank you for your interest in supporting Carrollton.
From the founding of the Society of the Sacred Heart, St. Madeleine Sophie Barat relied on the generosity, graciousness and support of people who shared her conviction that an education rooted in faith and intellectual life is of essential value. Founded in 1961, Carrollton has relied on the generosity of our parents, alumnae, faculty, staff, board of trustees and friends to support the school programs not covered by tuition income. Sacred Heart education is unique in its development of the child as a whole with concern for each student's spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical growth.

The purpose of Institutional Advancement is to support and further Carrollton's Sacred Heart mission, set forth in the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Schools. This is accomplished through various advancement and fundraising initiatives throughout the school year which allows individuals to give their time, talent and treasure to Carrollton.

We invite you to join the many supporters who have assisted us in our mission to educate courageous, confident, and compassionate women of the Sacred Heart.

Carrollton's Fundraising Initiatives
All fundraising efforts at Carrollton lead to the investment in human capital through the means of education. Each avenue for giving allows for excellence in teaching and learning, reinforcing the permanence of the mission, and paying it forward for future generations. For its strength and success in developing courageous and compassionate leaders, Carrollton depends on several fundraising initiatives.

The Fund for Carrollton addresses short-term goals, backing and supplementing the annual operating budget, and investing in teaching tools, technology, and opportunities to ensure educational excellence. These unrestricted gifts traditionally come out of discretionary income and are for the immediate benefit of the students.

Major Gifts Efforts supports major acquisitions and improvements always addressing long-term goals. These designated or directed gifts customarily are planned from the donor’s assets since the gift amount is typically larger and funded over 3 to 5 years. Major Gifts Efforts often fulfills the donor’s legacy plans.

Endowment Giving contributes to a measure of financial stability, like a savings account. The principal remains intact as the percentage of the interest income of the gift can be used to lessen the pressure off the operating budget to improve the quality of education we provide our students. Gifts to the Endowment express the donors’ confidence in Carrollton and their profound commitment to safeguard Carrollton for future generations.

Celebrate is the signature fundraising event of the year where every January the anniversary of Carrollton’s founding is commemorated, and all funds raised benefit our financial aid program. Carrollton is committed to the socio-economic diversity that a robust financial aid program can deliver. Currently over $3MM is awarded each year to deserving students across all grades.

Planned Giving enables donors who wish to make a major gift to Carrollton larger than would otherwise be possible from their discretionary income, to accomplish that wish by including Carrollton in their overall financial and/or estate planning. Made during their lifetime or after their passing, donors are giving to Carrollton for the benefit of future generations. There are many types of planned gifts. In addition to guidance from the school, Carrollton recommends professional advisors be engaged to explore the type of planned gift that is best for the donor.
