The beginning of summer marks the end of another successful year for Carrollton Athletics.
The beginning of summer marks the end of another successful year for Carrollton Athletics. In May, we celebrated the High School and Junior High athletes at the Athletic Awards Ceremonies where we acknowledged the accomplishments and highlights of sports teams. Each coach spoke of their season with the team on stage and then presented specific awards such as Leadership Award and Most Valuable Teammate. At the end of each ceremony, Headmaster Kalkus presented the special awards associated with each ceremony. At the High School ceremony, Scholar Athlete was awarded to Isabella Luna '18, Outstanding Athlete was awarded to Tanya Eathakotti '18 and Sydney Sariol '18, and Sportsmanship Award was given to Olyvia Middleton '18. At the Junior High Ceremony, the Cyclone Award was given to Alessandra Leyva '22 for her constant effort to live out the Goals & Criteria in her sportsmanship and behavior in competition.
The Cyclones also had a great showing at the Miami Herald Athletic Awards with three of our athletes named First Team in their sports. Tanya Eathakotti '18 received First Team recognition for golf for the sixth year in a row and Sydney Sariol '18 and Alexis Diaz-Silveira '19 received First Team recognition for soccer. It is an amazing honor to be acknowledged as some of the most talented athletes in Miami-Dade and is a true testament to their incredible talent. Tanya Eathakotti '18 was also nominated as Scholar Athlete for her academic achievements.
We look forward to another amazing year in 2018-2019! #gocyclones
