Parent Meeting on Vaping
Please join us Wednesday, May 16th at 7:00 p.m. in Meli’s Hall for this relevant discussion on vaping as presented and facilitated by Ana Moreno. Ana is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Addictions Professional in the State of Florida (CAP), and a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP). She is a counselor with Family Recovery Specialists who develops workshops on a variety of wellness topics including drug education, decision making, and how to set limits and boundaries. On Wednesday, May 23rd, the Intermediate/Junior High athletes will be recognized for their athletic accomplishments. The celebration will begin in the Wellness Center at 6:30 p.m. with refreshments followed by awards at 7:00 p.m.
Feast of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat Liturgy
Carrollton students will celebrate the Feast of St. Madeleine Sophie on Friday, May 25th, at 1:00 p.m. in St. Hugh Catholic Church. Parents are always welcome to attend our masses but, because this will be an all-school liturgy, seating will be extremely limited.
School will be closed on Monday, May 28th, in observance of Memorial Day. Enjoy the long weekend with family and friends.
Final exams for all Junior High students are scheduled for Wednesday, May 30th, and Thursday, May 31st. The dismissal time for these two days is 12 noon. Makeup exams are scheduled for Friday, June 1st. Only those students that need to makeup an exam should report on Friday morning with a doctor’s note. Exam schedule is as follows:
Wednesday: Math (8:30 - 10:00 a.m.) and History (10:30 - 12 noon)
Thursday: Science (8:30 - 10:00 a.m.) and English (10:30 - 12 noon)
The Student Council is sponsoring our end of the year dance to be held on Friday, June 1st, in Meli’s Hall from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. This year’s theme is “Under the Stars”.
Last Day of Classes
The last day of classes for all JH students is Monday, June 4th. Students will meet with their Math, History, Science and English teachers to go over the results of their final exams. Dismissal is at 12 noon.
Prize Day/Eighth Grade Graduation
The official last day of school for all Junior High students is Tuesday, June 5th. Seventh grade students must report to school at their regular arrival time of 8:30 a.m. and will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Eighth grade students have a later arrival time of 10:30 a.m. Prize Day/Eighth Grade Graduation will be in the Convocation Center and will begin at 11:00 a.m. for eighth grade parents and guests.
Yearbook order forms are available in your school office. Please fill them out and attach a check for $100, and return to your school secretary. The deadline has been extended to May 15th. ONLY BOOKS WHICH HAVE BEEN ORDERED BY THIS DEADLINE WILL BE PRINTED. So please order your copy today! For anyone wanting to place a full page ad, the cost is $300. Please email Mrs. Kathryn Banks before May 15th to reserve the page. All artwork, pictures and personal messages must be received by May 22nd.
