Yesterday, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart proudly celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2025, a class of young women who walked into the Church radiant in white dresses and red roses, full of wisdom, grace, and confidence, ready to leave their mark on the world.
But this was no ordinary graduation. As Mila Fanjul ’25 shared in her heartfelt Reflection Speech, “This is not an ordinary graduation; this is a graduation from a Sacred Heart School.” At Carrollton, traditions run deep. There are no caps and gowns, but rather the elegance of white dresses, the symbolism of red roses, and most importantly, a graduation Mass rather than a secular ceremony. Because here, God is at the center of everything we do.
The celebration was intentionally held within the Eucharistic celebration, a tradition that speaks volumes about the values instilled in each Carrollton graduate. In her Welcome Address, Veronica Estefani ’25 reminded us, “Anything and everything that we have built here has been forever shaped by God. God lives within every single one of us.”
This sacred tradition finds its roots in the vision of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, who believed that education must form both the intellect and the heart. Her mission was to raise up generations of young women rooted in faith, courage, and compassion, women who would go out into the world ready to transform it. The Class of 2025 stands as a beautiful testament to that mission fulfilled.
This year's graduation was a moving reminder that the journey of a Sacred Heart student is not only academic, but deeply spiritual. It was a moment not just of accomplishment, but of sending forth young women grounded in purpose and empowered by love.
