Award-Winning Journalist Jennifer Wallace Visits Carrollton for Parent Education Series

Over the past two days, Carrollton had the pleasure of welcoming award-winning journalist and bestselling author Jennifer Wallace to campus as part of our Parent Education Series.

Wallace led three engaging sessions with faculty and staff members, parents, and Upper School students, offering a deep and timely exploration of the pressures surrounding today’s achievement culture.

Drawing from her acclaimed book Never Enough: When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic and previewing insights from her forthcoming work, Mattering, Wallace invited our community to reflect on what it means to thrive, not just succeed. With thoughtful questions submitted by students and parents, she challenged us to consider how connection, compassion, and a sense of belonging can transform the way young people understand achievement and self-worth.

Her visit sparked meaningful conversations across our community, reminding us of the importance of fostering environments where every student feels seen, valued, and supported. We are grateful to Jennifer Wallace for sharing her expertise and inspiring us to nurture a culture where each person truly matters.
