Blackout Week 2026
  • Upper School

This Black History Month, Carrollton’s Black Student Union (BSU) celebrated a century of Black history, culture, and influence with Blackout Week 2026.

The week highlighted the voices of Black women, the power of music, the role of faith, and the achievements of Black professionals.

  • Monday - A Century in Her Shoes: An interactive lunch game honored influential Black women, with a chance to win a ticket to the BSU Cookout.

  • Wednesday - Community Voices Panel: Miami mentors shared reflections on the city’s Black history over the past 100 years.

  • Thursday - A Century of Black Spirituality: Upper School Sacred Space assembly celebrated Black faith, tradition, and community.

  • Friday - A Century of Black Music & Cookout: Ms. Arnitris Williams and her band performed during Upper School assembly, followed by the BSU Cookout on the El Jardin lawn.

Blackout Week invited the Carrollton community to learn, connect, and reflect on the people and stories that have shaped our community and world.
