Building Homes, Building Community in Ocuituco, Morelos

Building Homes, Building Community in Ocuituco, Morelos
  • Upper School

Our recent Viviendas Con Corazón service trip to Ocuituco, Morelos was a powerful expression of faith, service, and community.

Alongside our sister school, Colegio Sagrado Corazón in Mexico City, Carrollton students collaborated in teams to build homes for local families, working with dedication and care.

Each completed home became more than a structure; it was a gift of dignity and love. One of the most meaningful moments of the trip was the home blessing, where students presented each family with a framed image of Mater, a prayer, and a Sacred Heart candle, symbolizing the spirit in which each home was built.

The experience concluded with a beautiful Mass celebrated alongside the Ocuituco community, followed by a joyful gathering where families shared traditional Mexican food.

All Carrollton students returned home carrying lasting memories and a renewed sense of purpose, strengthened by the bond with our sister school community.
