- Alumnae
We are delighted to share an update about one of our remarkable alumnae, Katherine "Katie" Purkis ‘13.
Recently, Katie’s mother, Lotte Purkis, attended Carrollton's athletics parent meeting for her youngest daughter, Grace ‘28. Interacting with the athletics staff made Lotte reflect on Katie’s time at Carrollton, and she was deeply moved by the unwavering support and dedication her daughter received from our community. She fondly remembers the countless hours that Ms. Kira Butler and Ms. Megan Turner devoted to Katie, arriving early to school to ensure she had every opportunity to excel in the gym. “This level of commitment is a testament to the strong, supportive environment we strive to cultivate here,” Lotte shared.
We are thrilled to announce that Katie has achieved a significant milestone. After completing the demanding cadet basic training known as BEAST over the summer, she was accepted into the prestigious West Point Corps of Cadets on Saturday, August 17th. As a Cadet Private, or Plebe, she will embark on a transformative journey over the next four years, with the goal of earning a Bachelor of Science and training to become a Commissioned Officer in the US Army.
This is just the beginning of an extraordinary path for Katie, and we are excited to witness her continued growth and success. We extend our deepest thanks to everyone who has been a part of her journey and helped make her dream a reality, and to her parents for sharing this exciting milestone with the Carrollton family.
Congratulations, Katie! As we reflect on your journey, we are filled with immense pride and gratitude. We look forward to celebrating your future achievements.
