- Alumnae
Last month, we had the privilege of welcoming the extraordinary Dr. Edda Fields-Black, a proud Carrollton alumna from the Class of 1989, back to campus as part of our Harmony & Heritage cultural series.
Dr. Fields-Black, a featured author at this year’s Miami Book Fair, shared her groundbreaking research and captivating insights from her latest book, COMBEE: Harriet Tubman, the Combahee River Raid, and Black Freedom during the Civil War.
It was an honor to gather in community to learn from her inspiring work and journey. Adding to the special evening, several of Dr. Fields-Black’s classmates from the Class of 1989 were in attendance to show their support and celebrate her remarkable achievements.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Community Relations team, Mrs. Josefina Beyra and Ms. Dahiana Taveras, for their efforts in organizing meaningful and impactful events that unite and inspire both our Carrollton family and the greater community. We are so grateful for all you do to foster connections and celebrate the Sacred Heart values we hold dear.
