Carrollton had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Jacqueline Gallo as the keynote speaker for the Janet Erskine Stuart, RSCJ Institute for Teaching and Learning (JESI).

With a Ph.D. in the Anthropology of Education and experience teaching at universities across the UK, Nigeria, and Uganda, Dr. Gallo brings a global perspective to her work exploring girls’ education, international development, faith and learning, and the importance of building bridges across cultures.

Her connection to the Society of the Sacred Heart made the conversation especially meaningful. Dr. Gallo shared about the 18 months she spent living, working, and studying alongside the RSCJ in Africa, where she witnessed firsthand the safe communities and opportunities they create for girls to attend school and pursue their education.

Her reflections offered our Sacred Heart educators an inspiring reminder of the reach of our mission, and of the profound ways education can create opportunity.

We are grateful to Dr. Gallo for sharing her experiences and passion with our community, and to all of the Sacred Heart educators who gathered at Carrollton today for a day of learning and connection.
