Ocean Explorers - Rising 3rd through 5th Grade
Ready to set sail on a summer of discovery and adventure?
Ocean Explorers introduces younger campers to the fundamentals of sailing and marine science through hands-on learning and adventure. Led by Julianna Skoglund, a former collegiate sailor and marine biology major from the University of Miami, the program blends expert instruction with the fun and excitement of exploring Biscayne Bay.
Campers take the helm as they learn to navigate small solo sailboats across our secluded corner of the Bay. Each day brings a balance of sailing, exploration, and hands-on learning through science experiments, field games, crafts, and plenty of time on the water.
As campers gain confidence at the helm, they also learn the principles of good seamanship: awareness, responsibility, and respect for the environment and for others on the water. They practice teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making in real time, guided by experienced coaches every step of the way.
Beyond sailing, campers’ kayak, paddleboard, swim, and explore the Bay’s marine habitats up close. On land, they dive into creative STEM activities and projects that connect what they see on the water to how the marine world works. By the end of the session, campers leave with foundational sailing skills - from rigging their boats to independently navigating a figure eight course- and a deeper appreciation for the ocean that surrounds us.
S.E.A. Camp (Sailing, Environment, Adventure) - Rising 6th through 8th Grade
Discover the world of sailing, marine biology, and conservation this summer at S.E.A. Camp (Sailing, Environment, Adventure)! Program Director Julianna Skoglund, a former collegiate sailor and marine biology major from the University of Miami, combines years of sailing experience with a deep understanding of Biscayne Bay’s marine ecosystems to create a one-of-a-kind learning environment.
Campers team up to sail small boats, work together to master new skills, and explore the dynamic environments of Biscayne Bay. Each day blends time on the water with hands-on learning and active exploration. Whether restoring mangroves, testing water quality, or learning to read the wind, campers discover how science, sailing, and stewardship come together on the bay.
Teamwork is at the core of everything we do. Campers learn to communicate, problem-solve, and navigate together—developing the confidence and awareness that make great sailors and strong teammates.
Days are filled with movement and discovery, from kayaking and paddleboarding to swimming and creative projects on land. By the end of the week, campers leave with practical sailing experience, lasting friendships, and a stronger connection to the natural world around them.

-
Design a Full Look: Walk away with a matching trio—a decorated hat, an artsy t-shirt, and embroidered, personalized sneakers.
-
Shine on the Runway: Wrap up the session with a mini fashion show where campers model their creations (paired with their own shorts, skirts, or pants) and celebrate their personal style.
